

In this first edition, the top ten cities are: Singapore (1 st), Zurich (2 nd), Oslo (3 rd), Geneva (4 th), Copenhagen (5 th), Auckland (6 th), Taipei (7 th), Helsinki (8 th), Bilbao (9 th) and Dusseldorf (10 th).
The Index thus provides a balanced focus on “economic and technological aspects” and “humane dimensions” of smart cities. The first global index of smart cities of its kind, the SCI is unique in its focus on how citizens perceive the extent and impact of efforts to make their cities ‘smart’.
